Hi all!
We are all confirmed for the Toronto YAP dance party. It's going to be SO awesome. I'm sending you this info so you know the scoop and can help us spread the word as we get closer to the day. We will post the event in the calendar too, so this is just a heads' up.
The party will be Monday August 17 at the Rockwood club (31 Mercer Street) starting at 10 pm. It's about .5 miles from the Metro Toronto Convention Center (walking distance or $8 cab ride) and 10 minute cab ride from The Distillery area (ASAE's Food & Wine Classic Event/ends at 10pm). Check out the virtual tour! The club closes at 3:00 am so have a nap before you come out... ;)
We will have the 2 main booths on the 2nd floor (wood level) for the entire night. The booths surround the dance floor. There is part of the bar that is exclusive to this area for people to cash in drink tickets. The booths include bottle service-4 bottles of Absolut. We will use the bottles of Absolut for the exclusive event drink, the YAPtini. The YAPtini ingredients will be provided; guests will be responsible for mixing individual drinks in the VIP area. In addition to bottle service, guests will be provided with drink tickets. (Gratuity is included so you won't need to tip extra unless you're bling like that).
No cover charge for event guests arriving before 11:30pm. YAPpers say their name at the door and are let in FREE, bottle service establishes VIP entrance to the event. We will provide blingy YAP stickers as identifiers too, for anyone who finds us to get one in advance, so make sure you find us - OR - visit the booths of our fab-tastic sponsors, Avectra and SusQtech, to get a sticker.
We will also have some Moo cards for you - these are the little exclusive invitation cards we ask people to hand out in the run up to the party. We don't print many; we ask people to hand them out to colleagues they think will attend and will bring others with them. Come find us at the conference if you want some - but only hand one out per group of people - they are limited supply!
Apart from showing up and dancing your little hearts out, here are other ways you can help:
- the theme is "Bling!" - so think about "bling" to bring with you (just for fun, YAP is not responsible for lost or stolen items yada yada!)
- post ideas here for our "YAPtini" cocktail - must be mixed with Absolut. Our YAP colors are traditionally orange and blue - but we've had mixed results with that combo so no need to stick to that!
- spread the word! Tell your friends.
