Database Analyst

The Association of the United States Army is seeking an experienced Database Analyst.  The position will fulfill an integral role with implementing and supporting a new Association Management System (AMS).  The right candidate will work in a team environment with a Sr. DBA, Systems and Networking Administrators.  This is an excellent opportunity to be a part of implementing a new AMS.  Please forward resumes to ncampbell@ausa.org.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of AUSA's Microsoft SQL databases and applications
  • o Applications include Personify AMS, Microsoft Dynamics GP and Microsoft SharePoint
  • Creating and modifying queries and reports utilizing Data Analyzer and Crystal Reports
  • Assisting with database and application upgrades and routine maintenance
  • Requirement gathering and analysis from users
  • Assisting with user acceptance testing and implementing new database functionality
  • User deskside training and support of database applications
  • Maintaining data integrity
  • Maintaining routine backups of databases
  • o Assist with maintaining disaster recovery plan
  • Creating and maintaining documentation and standard operating procedures

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in information systems or computer science or sufficient experience
  • 3 to 5 years of extensive knowledge and abilities with Microsoft SQL and/or other relational databases within an association or nonprofit organization
  • Hands-on, technical experience with Association Management Systems like Personify, TIMSS, netFORUM, iMIS, etc. (preferably Personify or TIMSS)
  • Experience with the following technologies,
  • o Microsoft Windows Server 2003/2008
  • o Microsoft SQL Server 2005/2008
  • o Microsoft Reporting Services
  • o Business Objects Crystal Reports
  • o Microsoft Visual Studio 2005/2008
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills
  • Strong communication, written and verbal
